so now it is 20 minutes before midnight and i’m waiting 54 minutes to watch the rest of season 3 episode 9 of dexter. such an wonderful show, i just love it.
today i went swimming because it was so hot outside, although i suppose i didn’t actually swim, it was more just roll up the pool cover and toss it over the side of the (above-ground) pool, then climb onto a floating bed and keep my face in the sun. True that is not good for me and i don’t think i’ve ever actually done that before because i’m afraid of skin cancer, my only defense is that the sun was so deliciously warm. anyway, the sun went and hid itself behind a cloud after a little while so i recovered the pool and went inside.
i’m effectively on holiday from my au pair job for now because the kid i look after and his family have gone to stay on their boat for 2 weeks and i opted to stay behind. i find it very relaxing to have this time almost to myself and i say almost because i talk to Tante Yvette and help her in the garden almost every day. she is the aunt of the father of the kid i look after and in french aunt is tante so really i should probably call her by her surname but everyone else calls her tante Yvette so i do too.
it is really crazy how many fruit trees are on this property, i think there are about 6 or 7 cherry trees 2 or 3 apple trees possibly an apricot tree but that one is unconfirmed, there’s a pear tree and i think i missed something else aswell. plus there are strawberries, rasberries and some little red and black berries which i don’t know the name of in english - or french for that matter.
i’m from australia so i find geneva to be ridiculously green in comparison, there are flowers and trees everywhere, especially roses, almost every roundabout in the road is filled with red roses blooming as if their very lives depended on it.
well it is 11:57pm now so i’ll see how much longer i have to wait because sometimes it is not always the full 54 minutes.
